This canal is not super deep and leads out to Mason Creek, which lies south of the Homosassa River and North of the Chasshowitzka River. Mason Creek is a smaller river with minimal markings and lots of oyster beds and rocks. If you don't know the area, take caution while you learn. I've known boaters to run 24' boats in this area, as long as you keep up with the tides and follow them. This water is best suited for pontoon boats with drop-tops, flats boats, skiffs, kayakers, and paddleboards. An inshore fishing paradise.
