Just the name - GULF COVE - beckons one to visit. Gulf Cove is a growing waterfront community with new and newer homes. Yet, there remains peace, serenity and privacy. This piece of land is a "standard lot" on which most builders should be able to build your new home without having to make major modifications. Across the street from this land are some lovely newer homes - just waiting for a new neighbor. Gulf Cove is convenient to both the beautiful pristine sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico and the hustle and bustle of Port Charlotte. The Gulf Cove Property Owners Association is a voluntary organization whose members pay a nominal annual fee and have the exclusive use of the park and Myakka River boat ramp. Very nearby are the thriving communities of Englewood and Port Charlotte with a multitude of the stores you need and want - Publix, Home Depot - you name it, it’s probably here. Englewood is known for its robust restaurant community. You should never go hungry here. A big local draw is the Charlotte Sports Park – home of the Tampa Bay Rays spring training and Charlotte Stone Crabs. While this area still has acres of open land, major residential development is on the rise offering a diverse range of housing options. Undoubtedly Gulf Cove’s biggest draw is its location along the shores of the Myakka River which flows into Charlotte Harbor. The harbor supports over 600 species of birds, fish, and marine wildlife and great fishing. “Cross the bridge” to Punta Gorda and visit the Peace River Wildlife Center, a rehab facility for injured and orphaned wildlife. Laishley and Gilchrist parks offer benches and piers to enjoy the beauty of Charlotte Harbor. Gilchrist Park offers tennis, basketball and pickleball courts – all free. 18 miles of lighted, landscaped and level groomed pet-friendly walking and biking paths wander around the City and along the harbor’s edge, also linking the Historic District with downtown’s boutiques and restaurants with truly something for anyone’s palate. Visit “Hounds on Henry” a friendly fenced area for your dog to run around and make new friendships for you and your furry love. Saturday and Sunday farmers’ markets bring out the best of local produce and arts and crafts. Fishermen’s Village is a great waterfront draw with multiple boutiques and delicious restaurants. Into the arts? Well there is the Charlotte Symphony with international guest musicians, the Charlotte Players, the Charlotte Choral, the Charlotte Concert Band, the Visual Arts Center at once a gallery, school, and lovely gift shop. The Harborside Event Center brings in well-known celebrities for a wide diversity of entertainment options. Need to fly away? Punta Gorda’s own airport is just minutes away; Fort Myers and Sarasota airports are about 35 miles from here. Multiple hospitals provide excellent health care. From Gulf Cove, the lovely beaches of the Gulf of Mexico are a short, pleasant drive away. There you can find beautiful shells and sharks’ teeth, not to mention water the color of an aquamarine to swim in. There are many reasons to love this area and call it home. - one of the best THERE IS NO SNOW HERE. Come and find your own Paradise.
