Welcome to the Wilkerson House. This is an original 1925 bungalow from the Gulfport Boomtimes era before the great depression of 1929. Located in the Art District only one block from the beach and only 2 blocks from the Gulfport Casino and the famous Beach Blvd. On the outside you have a corner lot and a big fenced in back yard. On the inside the house has the original layout which includes a living room with a brick fireplace. A long galley kitchen with washer and dryer at the far end. The balloon frame type construction features a high cathedral ceiling. The inside walls of the 2 bedrooms do not go all the way up to the high ceiling, which allowed for greater circulation in the days before air conditioning. The floors are the original heart of pine wood. Attached to the rear of the house is a 12 x 12 greenhouse which can also be used as an art studio or workshop. There is a window unit air conditioner in the greenhouse for year round comfort. This is one of the few rare original pre-1930s bungalow homes remaining in Gulfport. And it is even rarer to find one which is on the market.
Also, new roof in 2015 and new AC in 2008.
