This unit is a fixer upper that's why it is priced way lower than the other 2 bedrooms. Please bring all offers. Strathmore Riverside Villas makes up one of the highest waterfront communities on the West Coast of Florida. Lots right on the seawall are well above the protected waterways. The entire area is built on one of the few stone ledges on Florida's Suncoast, along the Phillippi River in Sarasota, adjacent to a pretty residential area. From the boat basin and canal, you're just a few minutes by boat from the Intracoastal Waterway and some of the finest fishing around. A quick drive takes you to Sarasota's best beaches. Siesta Key is only a few minutes away and its beach is made of 98% quartz, which makes it soft to walk on and never gets hot. There are 3 area malls within 15 minutes, a shopping mart just 2 minutes away which includes restaurants, Detweilers, CVS, etc. Only 6.4 miles to downtown and Marina Jacks from there it is easy to get to the little theatres, great restaurants, the Opera, the Symphony, Ringling Museum and the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall and other fascinating attractions. The Community itself centers around the Recreation Complex, in the main building a huge party-game- meeting room is equipped with a large screen TV, VCR, card tables and its own complete kitchen. If you prefer entertaining, but prefer not to involve your own home, here is the ideal spot. One whole wall of the principal room consists of sliding glass doors that open onto a wide terrace with full size heated pool and shuffleboard courts. Poolside parties are wonderful. Off the big room is another card room or reading room, beyond that is the library which is very well stocked and maintained. Keep going and you enter the two exercise rooms or go shoot of round of pool with your friends. By the pool door are two bathrooms which each contain a sauna. The pool is heated to 86*. The boat docks are available on a first come first serve basis, cost is $279 per year. Two pets are welcome, no taller than 15" at the shoulder. This community is know for its active social life with all different types of activities. The Community offers a Boat Club, 2 Golf Groups ( 9 &/or 18 Holes), an Arts and Crafts Group, all kinds of Card Groups & Board Games every night except Saturday. Many also play during the day. They have an Annual Shuffleboard Championship followed by an Awards Luncheon. They also have a Lunch Bunch whereby a lunch is provided with entertainment or local education is provided. They have Dinner and Dance parties, Pot Luck and Cabarets. If you want to get something started that's not going on, just get a group together and it will happen. Besides all the activities, the heated pool, the boat basin the location is perfect for getting around. Shopping, beaches, downtown & 75 just a few minutes away.
